Are You a Consumer or a Creator? (And how to make the switch)
Are you a consumer or creator? Learn the mindset shift to start working towards your dreams.

Social media is made up of influencers, teenagers, and unemployed adults.
Everyone fall between two categories, you're either fueling someone else's dream, or your building your own.
Let's talk about The Scroll.
You know the one.
You open your phone for "five minutes" and suddenly it's 1PM. You've seen 47 outfit hauls, and your to-do list is untouched.
That's consumer mode.
And it's keeping you stuck.
The Consumer Loop (It's a Trap)
Let's break down what "consumer mode" actually looks like:
- Binging YouTube "how to be productive" instead of being productive
- Creating a dream Board on Pinterest but never working towards it
- Watching people chase their dreams today while you plan to start tomorrow
It feels like you're being proactive, but really, you're just stalling.
You can't scroll your way into a dream life.
What's Creator Mode, Then?
Being a creator doesn't mean your launching a business tomorrow.
It means:
You spend more time building a better life than bingeing on someone's.
Creators are:
- The girl designing her first clothing piece on her bedroom floor
- The guy building a mood board for his dream tattoo shop
- The student writing stories between classes
- The teen selling lip gloss on Etsy
Creators make.
Don't worry about being ready.
You just have to start; your dream life will come, but it takes time.
Creator Mindset > Consumer Mindset
Here's how to tell the difference:
Start Small: Make the Tiny Shift
You don't need to delete your apps.
Just starting using them like a creator would.
Next time you open Instagram, try this:
- Post a behind-the-scenes of a project your working on
- Share a tip, quote, or lesson you learned recently
- Save your ideas in a "Create Later" folder
Next time you open YouTube:
- Watch a tutorial and do it immediately after
- Create your own version of what inspired you
- Leave a comment that adds value or asks a thoughtful question
Consume with the intension to create.

Recap Before You Go
Here's what to remember:
- Your either a consumer (watching) or a creator (making)
- Creator mode isn't just for influencers, it's for anyone with ideas
- You already have what you need to start right now
Don't just scroll through life. Create a life that is worth scrolling through.
Quick Action Step
1. Pick one thing you've consumed this week
2. Remix it into something of your own. Write it. Sketch it. Build it. Style it.
3. Post it or save it somewhere to track your progress
Start small, but start today.
Discipline > Motivation
Progress > Perfection
P.S.: Most YouTube videos, reels, and blog posts you consume every day are benefiting someone's dream. People monetize their content so they can get a little cash while the consumer scrolls their life away.
You can continue to scroll, or you can create. The world needs what you have to offer. Just think about it.
